Stockholm view – City hall


One last Stockholm painting for now. This one is based on this sketch that I did last July (below). I decided from the beginning that I would use a limited but somewhat crazy color scheme for it, and tried a lot of combinations before deciding on this yellow-orange-pink-red. Working with the ‘wrong’ colours is really fun to do, and a good exercise in concentrating on values.


Painting: 34,5 x 54 cm, watercolours on Arches (I think…) 300 g watercolour paper. Sketch: 42 x 17 cm, Namiki-Falcon pen with Platinum Carbon ink and watercolours on Arches Satinée 300 g watercolour paper.
