I left my black ink line at home today, and decided to try out a four colour ballpoint pen instead. I am not a fan of drawing with ballpoints, but when I tried it along with watercolours in Sagar Fornies workshop during the Urban sketchers symposium in July this year, I knew I had to experiment some more with it at some point.
I am not quite there yet with which colour to choose for the lines, and I got carried away and drew more lines and hatching than I usually do which makes for a somewhat cluttered result, but I had a lot of fun drawing this. Ballpoint is so different from ink pens, in that it gives you a more humble line, and you can tone and shade things in a more subtle way. And I like the effect the coloured line brings to the watercolours.
